Today marks one month until I leave for Madagascar. I’m busy crossing items off my “things I need to do before I leave” list, but this also brings me closer to the reality that I’m leaving.
Each day I try to stop and remind myself to thank God for all the little moments. The small ways that God is working in my life. I’m thankful for friends who listens to me as I go back and forth from being so excited to go and then crying because of what I’m leaving behind. I’m thankful for everyone who has made a donated to my trip and are making this year a reality. I’m thankful for the medical staff who is helping me get my diabetes supplies in order. Most of all, I’m thankful for my family. They have raised me to be who I am and encouraged me go where my heart leads me. Without them this dream would not be a reality.
So, as I prepare to have a life changing experience, I stop and thank God for the small things each day. This way I will not let the stress and anxiety of the upcoming month win. I will live in the moments that lead up to it. I live in the hope that God has a plan for my life and I am open to where He is leading. Madagascar, I will be there soon.
